Call for Abstracts
Thank you for your interest in presenting a paper or poster at the 5th International Workshop on Carnot Batteries in 2026. We look forward to reading your abstract and are delighted that you have chosen to participate actively in this conference.
Abstract Guidelines
As in previous years, the 5th International Workshop on Carnot Batteries in 2026 will feature invited and contributed talks, as well as poster presentations.
All contributing speakers and poster presenters must submit an abstract. Please read the instructions below.
Submission of Extended Abstracts
- You can submit an abstract without registering for the conference. Submitting an abstract will only pre-register you for the conference, which is not binding. However, you should arrange your accommodation in advance.
- Please use the template below for your extended abstract. It may include one optional figure or table and should be no more than one page long.
- All abstracts must be submitted in English.
- Extended abstracts must be submitted electronically via this platform.
- Abstracts sent by fax or email will not be accepted.
- After you receive notification of acceptance, the presenting author must register for the conference using your existing pre-registration. Once you have been accepted, you will receive a link through which you can finalise your registration, which will then be binding.
The submission deadline is extended: 1 June 2026
Before submitting an extended abstract, please ensure that you follow all instructions carefully. Once your extended abstract has been accepted, you will receive instructions on how to submit your talk or poster electronically.
If you have not received confirmation by email within a reasonable timeframe, please contact the Scientific Programme Committee at tt-events-energy-storage@dlr.de, quoting the subject line '5th IWCB 2026 | Abstract Submission'.

For your convenience, the following Word template has been pre-formatted. Insert your abstract into the provided template, save it as a PDF file, and then upload the file. Best Poster Award by EERA Joint Programme Energy Storage (JP ES)
It is with great pleasure that we announce the sponsorship of this year's Best Poster Award by the EERA Joint Programme Energy Storage (JP ES SP3). In accordance with EERA's dedication to scientific eminence, this accolade acknowledges exceptional research and pioneering contributions by early-career scientists.
A particular emphasis of IWCB 2026 is the support and visibility of early‑career researchers. Young scientists, including PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers, will be given the opportunity to present their work in dedicated poster sessions and to engage in scientific exchange with internationally recognised experts.
In line with EERA’s mission to foster excellence and collaboration in energy research, EERA Joint Programme Energy Storage will recognise outstanding poster contributions by early‑career researchers through a Best Poster Award at the workshop.
